Statement of Significance

Description of Historic Place

McAdam Heritage Park, developed circa 1976, is a two-acre grassed park along Saunders Road in front of McAdam’s historic railway station containing monuments and artefacts relating to the village’s heritage.

Heritage Value

McAdam Heritage Park is designated a Local Historic Place for being a place to exhibit artefacts and commemoration plaques celebrating the Village of McAdam’s history. Developed by the village, the site includes artefacts and monuments relating to the village’s railway history, military efforts and other local points of interest. The park was also created to provide the village with a place of leisure and recreation from what was an unusable piece of swamp land in order to improve the frontal appearance of McAdam’s national treasure, the McAdam Railway Station National and Provincial Historic Site.
