Vanastra Park Gate and Posts are on the east side of London Road, north of Vanastra Road, in the Town of Vanastra (Tuckersmith), in the Municipality of Huron East. The stone posts and iron gate were constructed in circa 1940.

The property was designated, by the Town of Tuckersmith (now Municipality of Huron East) in 1984, for its heritage value, under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, By-law 36-1984.

Valeur patrimoniale

Located along London Road, the gateway was originally the main entrance to the former Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Clinton. CFB Clinton was the first radar training school for the government of Canada.

The Vanastra Park Gate and Posts is a landmark and a monument to the radar base which contributed to the economic and social growth of the town. This landmark is one of the few reminders of the base.

The Vanastra Park Gate and Posts consists of two stone posts on concrete foundations supporting an iron gate. Located to the north of the gate are the remnants of another post with only the foundation remaining.
