Statement of Significance

Description of Historic Place

The Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Plenty is a Municipal Heritage property occupying two civic lots. The site consists of a single-storey wood-frame building.

Heritage Value

The heritage value of the Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Plenty resides in its association with the history of Plenty. This wood-frame building became Plenty’s first Catholic Church when it was acquired by the parish and relocated to this site in 1925. The building had previously been used as a general store owned by one of the parishioners. Although no longer used as a church, several community groups use the building as a meeting place. As one of the oldest buildings in Plenty, it is a landmark in the community.
