Valeur patrimoniale

It is also significant as the first permanent office to serve the municipality which was established in 1910. The office held all records of the municipality and was the place of municipal Council meetings.

The heritage value of the Old Municipal Office at Hoey also extends to its architecture, which is significant as one of the oldest structures in Hoey. The building exemplifies period wood-frame construction and features bevelled, lapped siding and modest Craftsman-style influences which are displayed in the hoods over the doorways with their triangular brackets and exposed rafters. Due to the building’s historic architecture, prominent function, and location within Hoey, it is recognized as a landmark in the community.
