Heritage Value
3908 First Avenue has historical value as an example of early Smithers settlement.
The property has aesthetic value as an example of a 1920s kit style home. This kit home is an Aladdin Brunswick XVI model constructed during the building boom that occurred in Smithers in 1921- 1922 and is one of the three identified remaining Aladdin Company kit homes in Smithers. It was originally built in 1922 for Joseph and Alice Stephens.
This historic place also holds social/cultural value as a rare remaining example of a residential home within one block of the commercial/retail centre on Main Street.
