The Adanac House is a wood-frame Craftsman style house located in downtown Chilliwack, British Columbia. The historic place includes the house.

Heritage Value

This site has historical, social and cultural, and aesthetic value.

Its historical value is tied to its builder and early owners. It was constructed in early 20th century by Henry Proctor, and was originally a farm with a residence facing McNaught Road. It was then owned by Gladys and Siebert Kimmel during 1945-1961.

It was then subdivided by the Kimmels, resulting in construction of 1950s and 1960s suburban homes around it. Contributing to its social and cultural value.

Aesthetically it is valued as an example of Craftsman-style architecture and original furnishings such as a chest of drawers that has been in the house since it was built.

The Character-Defining Elements of this historic place include its:

- Original location on Adanac Avenue with historic orientation to McNaught Road
- Residential scale and form as expressed in its one-and-one-half storey height (plus basement) and porch
- Large, side-gabled roof with exposed eaves and rafter tails, tongue & groove soffits
- Early, possibly original stucco cladding
- Etched parged foundation
- Original double-hung wood sash windows with divided-light upper sashes, and early wood storm windows
- Original wood window and door trim and facia boards with mouldings
